Who are you and why did you create this website?
My name is Jessica, hello! In this unique edition, I share a personal introduction and provide a glimpse into the inspiration behind creating this website. I hope you give it a read.
What are your beliefs?
I believe that every word in the Bible came to us from the mind of God. (II Timothy 3:16-17).
I seek to do all that God commands and nothing He has not authorized. I look to the Bible as our source of authority (Colossians 3:17). If God teaches us by a direct command of Jesus or his apostles, an example approved in the early church by the apostles, or by an inescapable conclusion drawn from the Bible, I do it; if not, I don’t.
I wear no other name than the one disciples of Jesus wore in the first century – Christian (Acts 11:26).
I am a baptized believer, raised to walk in “newness of life” (Romans 6:3-4) through faith in God’s work of salvation through Christ (Colossians 2:12). I am not perfect, but rather forgiven (Romans 3:23-24; I John 1:8-9).
I am not affiliated with any denomination, including those who may have “Church of Christ” in their names. I belong to “Him who called us by His own glory and excellence” (II Peter 1:3).
Individual churches of Christ are independent of each other. You will find many similar practices and teachings between different groups because we all use the Bible to guide us. Yet, each group is unique, just as we are all unique. Individual churches of Christ have no creed or statement of faith. God gave us His book, and that is what we use.
I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and the considerable testimony in the Bible proves it.
Why has it been a long time since you've last posted?
This website operates like an online magazine, presenting a new issue each month, along with occasional updates on personal projects in the Workspace page. Although there might be long intervals between issues due to life's demands, I strive to follow a schedule, aiming to release each issue during the second week of the month. Your understanding and patience are truly appreciated.
